Update

I woke up and had LBM (!!) or the runs. =( Took a swig of Pepto and then went downstairs to have some breakfast. Hung out with Tita Carol’s sisters. They took us to the TriNoma Mall, which is a really nice mall, had Brothers Burgers (super yum!), and then they took us this hydro spa with herbal pools. Ha ha…it was really cool.

Woke up around 5 in the morning with the runs again. But not as bad as the other day. Hopefully my stomach and my system is getting used to it here. Pastor Alex, Mark, and Krissa came to meet us today. The team is now officially together. Hurray! We went to Market! Market! for lunch, do so some shopping, and to get the school supplies for the children’s ministries. We bought so much stuff, that it took 4 workers, 20 minutes, and 2 boxes to get it all done. Ha! But, we’re excited about it! I bought more pasalubong stuff and then we had dinner with some pastors today to meet them and ask them questions about the ministries. We’re off to GreenHills Mall tomorrow. I really want to finish all the pasalubong stuff tomorrow.

Went shoppng with Kris at Market! Market for school supplies for the kids. Then, we went to a youth rally that was about 2 and a half hours away. We drove through crazy traffic, through crazy streets, but praise God, the van brought us there and back. There were many high schoolers there. Pastor Alex gave a message about being a follower of Christ. We were supposed to lead in singing some songs, and Kris was supposed to give her testimony, but the other churches there (there were 6 churches total) sang some songs...one even gave us a mini-concert. Seriously.

Packed the school supplies for the kiddoes. Went to Green Hills for more goodies. Had lunch at Jollibee (again!) and then we went to TayTay to feed some children there. We thought there would only be 30 kids, but there ended up being about 90!! They were excited to see us, and we got to pass out food, I played a little, and we tried to get to know as many as we could. They loved when we took pictures of and with them. We met one of the workers there, Tita Grace, and we went to her house after. There was a small group meeting there and we got to meet some high school and college aged people.

I was very humbled to see that though they don't live with much, they are still happy. Especially Tita Grace, she lives in a very small home, and she gives any extra money she has (not even extra) to help feed the children in the barangay. She gives sacrificially. She makes close to nothing, and yet she continues to give to those "less fortunate" and she trusts that God will continue to provide. AND she has a smile on her face and joy radiates from her. Praise God for people like Tita Grace, who give joyfully to serve her Savior, and to extend the love of Christ to the children.
